Former “Tonight Show” host Jay Leno scored with his stand-up act Saturday night at Archbishop Mitty’s 25th annual Black & Gold Gala at the San Jose Fairmont. But not even Leno’s star power could outshine the alumni performers who returned to support the school’s big fundraiser. The talented grads included emcees Noah Collins and Shawn Clifford — both drama guys from the class of 2015 — who took the audience on a music-filled time-travel trip, inspired by “Back to the Future” and featuring their own “Doc Brown” in 2010 grad Matt Hill, who is a performer with Disney Cruise Lines and is directing “A Christmas Carol” for Children’s Musical Theater San Jose next month.
